In brief, the Garden Share Collective (GSC) is a group of passionate home gardeners who come together each month to share the joys and trials of growing fruit, vegetables and herbs for their families. To join in, either contribute a blog post on the last Monday of each month at Rosehips and Rhubarb or A Fresh Legacy about the theme of the month or join us on Facebook and Instagram using the hashtag #gardensharecollective. If you would like to contribute to the GSC Pinterest group, please let us know.
Lacking inspiration? Here are some ideas for writing about each of the themes. (Of course, the sky’s the limit and you can write about the themes any way you like.)
Monday 25 April: Save
Do you save money gardening? How? What strategies do you use?
Perhaps you save seeds. What method do you use? Has it been effective?
Do you preserve your homegrown produce? How do you save it for later use?
How do you save time in the garden? Are you saving the earth’s resources by gardening sustainably? Tell us about it?
Monday 30 May: Leaves
Do you grow silverbeet and cabbage, or perhaps unusual Asian greens. Tell us about them?
Are you a windowsill herb grower? What herbs do you grow and how do you use them?
How do you keep the leaves of your citrus trees healthy?
Take a picture of something with beautiful leaves and share using the hashtag #gardensharecollective.
Monday 27 June: Taste
What are your favourite things to grow and eat? Tell us about them.
Share a favourite recipe using homegrown produce.
How have your tastes changed and evolved since ‘growing your own’?
And don’t forget to end your post by sharing what you’re currently planting, harvesting and a to-do list for the following month.
